English plus Golf

English & Golf is offered at SACE. Golf is an accessible and popular sport in Australia and the city of Adelaide has a large number of both public and private golf courses. SACE English & Golf programme provides students with the opportunity to learn and practice golf whilst also improving their English language proficiency.

English plus Tennis

English Plus Tennis Coaching programme combines tennis coaching and practice with Standard General English instruction at SACE. The Memorial Drive Tennis Club (MDTC) and the Peter Smith Tennis Academy is now incorporated in the fabulous Next Generation Club’s facilities which include outdoor and indoor pools, saunas, gymnasium and squash courts. The tennis facilities which are regarded as being equal to the best in the world include grass, clay, rebound ace and synthetic grass court surfaces. The MDTC tennis coaching team led by Peter Smith provide excellent tennis instruction and the MDTC is home to a number of past and present high ranking tennis players and coaches. General English classes are conducted at the South Australian College Of English campus. The tennis centre is just a short walk or a five minute bus or tram ride from the college.

English plus Work Experience (18+ years old only)

SACE is an Australian leader in this area and has successfully conducted English and Work Experience Programmes since 1990. Our English and Work Experience Programme provides students the opportunity of developing professional work skills whilst practicing English in the workplace. Work placements are unpaid.

Conditions

This course is suitable for Working Holiday makers and student visa holders. You will complete a minimum 4 week Intensive English language course followed by a Work placement/internship for the period requested. You will need an Upper Intermediate level of English (FCE/IELTS 5.5 or equivalent) to commence your work experience placement/internship so consider if you need to plan a longer English language course to achieve this. You will also need to submit your current resume and work experience preferences with your application. Applications for English and Work Experience/Internship must be received at least 8 weeks prior commencement.

Course Duration and Levels

English Plus Golf

Timetable: 20 hours of English classes + 2 afternoon golf lessons per week, with Friday afternoon golf (9/18 holes).
Duration: 6 or 12 weeks (option to combine with another SACE course for longer study).
Requirements: Suitable for visitors, Working Holiday makers, and student visa holders; no golfing experience required; can start any Monday.

English Plus Tennis

Timetable: 20 hours of general English classes + 3 afternoon tennis coaching sessions per week.
Duration:Minimum 4 weeks (option to combine with another SACE course for longer study).
Requirements:Suitable for visitors, Working Holiday makers, and student visa holders; no tennis experience required; course can start on any Monday.

English Plus Work Experience

Timetable: 25 hours of general intensive english classes.
Duration: Minimum 4 weeks Intensive English course + Work Placement/Internship (length as requested).
Requirements: Upper Intermediate English (FCE/IELTS 5.5 or equivalent). Resume and work experience preferences required. Applications must be received at least 8 weeks before commencement and student has be 18 or older
